Vontier Power Platform Lead in Helena, Montana

As the Power Platform Lead at Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR), you will be responsible for developing and owning the governance, administration, and development of Microsoft’s Power Platform within the IT Core Services function. This includes having in depth knowledge of all Microsoft Power Platform technologies such as PowerApps, PowerApps Portals, Power BI, CDS/Dataverse, and Power Automate. You will collaborate with IT business partners and within the IT Core Services development teams to deliver quality end-to-end solutions to the business. You will also be directly involved with the business to clarify new requirements, to troubleshoot production system issues, and to work on continuous improvement / process improvement efforts. You will be responsible for helping foster the power platform community throughout the business and supporting user adoption and helping promote best practices.


  • Follow agile development best practices to drive high business value

  • Adhere to delivering high-quality products, on time, and within budget.

  • Work with the Enterprise Architecture function, where appropriate, to review and set architecture standards

  • Evaluate and transform functional requirements into a comprehensive design against technical standards

  • Participate in daily standup calls with the development team

  • Participate in code review sessions with the development team

  • Mentor others within the development team on the Power Platform stack

  • Work with QA team to develop test cases against functional requirements

  • Collaborate within the development team and directly with the business

  • Promote the use of Power Platform across the business

  • Work to understand business problems that could potentially be solved with the Power Platform

  • Analyze incoming project requirements to determine fit for Power Platform or Custom Web App

  • Help identify technical debt within legacy IT or Business applications that can be replaced with Power Apps

  • Provide governance oversight and production support of the power platform, including troubleshooting and issue resolution of defects

  • Help enable various business units to leverage the Power Platform themselves as a self-service technology

  • This could include end-user training, end user support, or general guidance and mentorship

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Power Platform across the organization

  • Investigate industry trends and provide guidance and recommendations to the team and senior management as it relates to the Power Platform

  • Keep current in new technologies that may streamline current processes

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with croscross-functionalms

  • Ensure governance model is being followed for the Power Platform

  • Provide recommendations to management on technology improvements

  • Provide training, guidance, and enable the business to Self Service where applicable


  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent with programming experience

  • Minimum - Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer

  • Preferred – Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect

  • At least 3 years of experience developing solutions within the Power Platform

  • Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate

  • Experience with Share Point and the Common Data Service (CDS) / Dataverse

  • Experience with traditional software development and architecture preferred but not required

  • .NET stack: C#, ASP .NET Core and html/css/js

  • Experience working with databases; MS SQL, Oracle, etc.

  • Experience working in various AGILE methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc)

  • Experience with SDLC tools such as Azure DevOps, and version control (Git, TFVC, BitBucket, etc)
