Meta Program Engineer, Connectivity CoE in Helena, Montana


Meta is seeking a Program Engineer, Connectivity to Network Center of Excellence to join the Design Engineering and Construction (DEC) team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our innovative services are delivered, and our rapidly scaling infrastructure operates. The team lights up Meta’s global data centers, delivering the physical infrastructure that connects the world to the videos, feeds, and other information stored on Meta’s server banks. Program Engineer, Connectivity serves as the DEC telecom subject matter expert (SME) supporting multiple data centers in an Area providing strategic program support in delivery while driving to global consistency in the field. This role provides for a system of control ensuring standardized builds around best practices and accelerated mitigation of lessons learned. It provides critical job site support on matters that challenge network planning and/or delivery. The Program Engineer, Connectivity is the regional trainer/mentor and provides expertise in the DEC telecommunication design, standards, products, quality, operations, tooling, and vendor management to the field.

Required Skills:

Program Engineer, Connectivity CoE Responsibilities:

  1. New site Startup – Serve as lead Telecom Delivery SME for new site start up within area of responsibility.

  2. Provides technical program support for new greenfield sites through onboarding of local staff.

  3. Project Delivery SME – Serve as the DEC regional subject matter expert supporting local project delivery.

  4. Project Support- Serves as regional trainer, including DEC Bootcamp. Mentors new staff. Collaborates to deliver global training while creating/updating training materials.

  5. Strategy implementation- Continually review DEC technologies and best practices and drives consistent deployment into the Geo/Area of responsibility.

  6. Influences DEC design products to ensure optimum constructability and job-site alignment. Evaluate key product strategy and introductions into DEC Design while preparing job sites for execution.

  7. Communications - Serves as representative for the area region with continual communications with the DEC back office, other regions, and all cross-functional partners.

  8. Vendor Management - Assists sites in optimizing vendor relationships and service delivery to DEC standards. Provides key input into QBR and HBR used to track and correct vendor quality performance.

  9. Quality - Supports local Field teams and Vendors in their site quality initiatives, providing strategic expertise and guidance to ensure the quality of installation and services per NCOE industry-leading standards of quality and reliability.

  10. Key problem solver of operational roadblocks. Works to drive Root Cause Analysis and linking back to lessons learned programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years’ experience as a structured cabling managing vendors in hyperscale data centers, large scale construction and/or other related fields

  2. Track record of managing the delivery of quality structured cabling installations in hyperscale data centers

  3. Communication skills, with the experience connecting with and influence a diverse group of stakeholders with different objectives

  4. Experience creating and driving strategic initiatives across global portfolio

  5. Experience training and mentoring others on technologies, installation methods, products, processes, etc.

  1. 10+ years’ experience in structured cabling installation, Data center development and/or construction management experience.

  2. Experience managing IT or IP Network deployment projects in a mission critical environment requiring coordination across multiple disciplines for the delivery of a common goal.

  3. Experience in leading deployments of Network/Structure cabling infrastructure at scale.

  4. Proven skills and understanding in hyperscale network topography and design principles.
