State of Montana Program Manager, Marketing in Helena, Montana

About this Position/(Select one of the divisions/attached descriptions based on where the position is located.)/ The marketing program is part of a versatile and cohesive Brand MT team that works to sustain and grow Montana’s economy. The program develops and uses advertising and promotional campaigns to showcase Montana and create awareness about the state as a place to visit and do business. Through data-driven marketing strategies, the team promotes the authentic character of Montana, reaching and impacting target audiences efficiently with measurable success. Our collective love of Montana shows in our work. /We are leaders in our field, always striving to offer best in class marketing and customer services./ The Program Manager, Marketing, is responsible for developing, managing, and implementing marketing plans for the Brand MT division. Duties include: * leading and developing the marketing program, including personnel, budget and change management – as top priorities. * developing and implementing consumer marketing and advertising goals, objectives, policies, strategies and campaigns for tourism and Department of Commerce programs * developing, producing, and analyzing statistical reports and overseeing research studies * developing and administering public relations, information dissemination, and industry outreach activities surrounding the marketing program * managing the Division’s largest budgeted program; and monitoring division call center and advertising fulfillment efforts. This position will optimize the use of staff and funding, comply with state and federal requirements, and ensure continued program operations. This position supervises 5 positions directly and 3 positions indirectly. This position is posted until filled with a first review of applicants on August 15, 2022. Education and Experience: * A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or other related fields * Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in a related field and 3 years of management experience required * Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Competencies: /Knowledge of:/ * Principles, practices, concepts and techniques of marketing, program administration and external communication. * How to manage marketing campaigns or ability to quickly learn campaign management, including defining goals and measurable objectives, directing work, executing across various teams, identifying measurement tools, and tracking and reporting results. /Ability to:/ * Establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally with a diverse group of individuals. * Provide strong, effective leadership, including encouraging employee development, providing direction and feedback and creating a motivating and exciting work environment. * Work independently to manage and administer a variety of concurrently running programs and/or campaigns. * Strategize and find solutions for unusual and difficult problems quickly and satisfactorily.
