Humana Project Management Lead – Clinician Recruitment and Retention Strategy in Helena, Montana

Overview: The Project Management Lead manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. The Project Management Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Project Management Lead will serve as a thought leader in determining overall project strategy and will lead the execution of that cross-enterprise strategy focused on clinician recruitment and retention. This individual will work across multiple departments and business lines, influencing key stakeholders to ensure the success of initiatives designed to enhance clinician wellbeing, professional satisfaction, and reduce turnover. The ideal candidate will have strong project management expertise, experience in healthcare settings, and a deep understanding of the drivers of clinician engagement.

Job Description:

The Project Management Lead designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project; monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project. Prepares designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to execute clinician recruitment and retention strategies.

  • Develop and implement operational plans for enterprise-wide projects focused on clinician wellbeing and professional satisfaction.

  • Engage with senior leaders and department heads to gather resources and secure contributions across multiple business lines.

  • Regularly report on project progress, risks, and deliverables to ensure alignment with overall enterprise strategy.

  • Drive decision-making processes, resolve issues, and optimize resource allocation to meet project targets.

Required Skills :

  • Ability to manage complex projects with minimal direction.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead through influence.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, clinician workforce management, and operational drivers of clinician satisfaction.

  • Experience in tracking and achieving project milestones on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 8+ years of experience in project management, preferably in healthcare or clinical settings.

  • 2 + years’ experience managing complex, cross-departmental projects with a focus on organizational goals.

  • 1-2 years of strategy development experience

  • Strong understanding of clinician recruitment, retention, and factors influencing turnover, and/or workforce development and engagement.

  • Demonstrated success in working with and influencing leaders across enterprise systems.

  • Passion for improving healthcare professional wellbeing and satisfaction.

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$115,200 - $158,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
