What You Will Do
PM will be responsible for the build-up, coordination, and completion of projects.
Manages multiple application development projects, and oversees all aspects of assigned projects and the software application development life cycle.
Sets schedules and deadlines, assigns tasks and responsibilities, allocates resources, and monitors and summarizes progress of project in an iterative methodology environment.
Prepares weekly project status reports for upper management
Reviews project milestones, deliverables and products
Implements organization standards and best practices in project execution, and ensures projects are clearly documented and communicated to stakeholders
Maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) software is kept up to date with all activities of the team(s) you manage
Contributes to large cross-functional project initiatives such as our agency-wide cloud migration efforts.
Influences others inside and outside the organization regarding views, practices and approaches.Requires masterful problem solving skills of often complex problems.
Creates new processes, new viable solutions and systems that have a long term impact on results.
Has full management functions that include hiring, firing, promotion,and reward authority within teams that they manage, in accordance with review andapproval procedures set by the USDA CISD contract Program Management team.
Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production, or operations team
Establishes key elements of operational plans with measurable contribution towards theachievement of operational targets
Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion, coordinates work activities with other supervisors or managers
Relies on experience to develop approaches to solutionswithin specified objectives, leading team members toidentify and solve problems
Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies,procedures, and business plan; receives guidance andoversight from senior-level manager
May work independently in addition to management responsibilities
Sets employee performance objectives, conducts performancereviews, and may make recommendations on pay actions and otherpersonnel actions with approval from USDA CISD contract Program Management Team
Will be required to communicate with clients or external stakeholderson matters related to job area practices and solutions
Facilitates discussions with externalstakeholders or clients to gain acceptance onterms, concepts, and approaches
Introduces and applies fresh ideas and creative solutions tostimulate discussion and thinking in both internal andexternal situations
Pioneers’ creative ideas and innovations to improve onsolutions, approaches, and systems
May participate in negotiations with other leaders regardingoperational issues
Manages, directs, and reviews the work of a team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments
Manages two or more employee that include junior or experiencedindividual contributors
What You Will Need :
BA/BS Degree
Degree can be substituted with 4 additional years of work experience
2-12 years of IT experience
Experience managing projects in the IT field or related area
Knowledge of application development (SDLC) from planning and inception through implementation and post-production support
Agile and DevOps knowledge
Leadership / Coach / mentoring experience
Possess knowledge and expertise in the use of various delivery methodologies and have a clear understanding of change management techniques
Experience in project management disciplines including organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, building a functional team from scratch, and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
The ability to remove blockers that are impending the team and customer success
Leadership capabilities, team-centric skills and strong solution orientation
Seeks first to understand then improve processes, relationships and our software deliverables
Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity, poise, maturity and precision both written and verbally, including in external customer facing situations
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; balancing strategic alignment with technology roadmap and emerging industry trends with practical delivery
Must be a US Citizen and pass govt background investigation.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Experience with large enterprise level software development
Previous experience working in a Government setting
PMP or SM certifications
The annual salary range for this position is $66,700.00-$100,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
