Humana Provider Contracting Professional in Helena, Montana

The Provider Contracting Professional 2 initiates, negotiates and executes physician, hospital, and/or other provider contracts and agreements for the organization. The Provider Contracting Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Provider Contracting Professional 2 communicates contract terms, payment structures, and reimbursement rates to providers. Analyzes financial impact of contracts and terms. Maintains contracts and documentation within a tracking system. May assist with identifying and recruiting providers based on network composition and needs. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

  • Develops and maintains a cost-effective provider network in assigned PSAs/NPSAs. Requirements include achieving budgeted discount percentages and network size to satisfy our network goals for new and existing providers.

  • Ensures that newly-contracted providers submit accurate initial contract packages.

  • Participates in market network collaboration meetings in order to foster greater understanding of the TRICARE program and improve cost awareness.

Humana Government Business government contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.

Required Qualifications

  • Must live in the continental United States

  • 3+ years provider and/or customer relations experience

  • Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position

  • Previous experience in provider contracting and/or negotiations/sales

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years experience in dealing with managed care or insurance issues (i.e., benefits, claims, etc.)

  • Proficiency in analyzing, understanding and communicating financial impact of contract terms, payment structures and reimbursement rates to providers.

  • Knowledge of the TRICARE program and other government contracting experience as well as the different reimbursement methodologies being employed.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$63,400 - $87,400 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
