Purview Health Center Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Helena, Montana
Under the general direction of the Behavioral Health Director, this position provides direct patient care in behavioral health care services.
Duties and Responsibilities?
Supports and coordinates behavioral health care services
Monitors patients' medication usage and results
Documents patients' medical and psychological histories
Physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes
Evaluates and reports patients' behavior assesses patients' mental and physical status based on the presenting symptoms and complaints
Educates patients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, or treatment plans
Writes prescriptions for psychotropic medications in scope of practice
Collaborates with medical director, primary care provider, and staff to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans
Develops and implements treatment plans
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications - Experience & Education?
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
graduate degree in psychiatric nursing and certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
Must be a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner eligible to practice in the State of Montana.
Two (2) years’ experience providing psychiatric nurse practitioner services preferred.

Use screening and assessment tools according to prescribed standards
Maintain health records according to prescribed standards
Coordinate care with behavioral health professionals and primary care provider
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Follow verbal and written instructions
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, fellow employees, supervisors, community service organization representatives and citizens
Some travel may be required.?
Duties are generally performed in a medical clinic environment where hazards and discomforts are controlled and modifiable.? This position requires the ability to stand, bend at the waist, kneel, reach over the head, talk, hear, and see.? Position requires knowledge and use of typical office equipment including telephone, copiers, fax machines, and personal computer.? Position requires frequent contact with clinic employees and occasional contact with community service agencies and citizens.? Position may require occasional visits to other sites.?
