St. Peters Health Registered Nurse - Diagnostic Imaging, PRN in Helena, Montana

ACLS and conscious sedation experience is required

JOB SUMMARY: The DI nurse coordinates education and scheduling to ensure patient is ready for their procedure in the clinical outpatient setting of Diagnostic Imaging. They work collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary team under the direction of the Director of Same Day Surgery or designee. The nurse reviews the patient's status related to the planned procedure to include physical parameters, lab values, medication, pre-, intra-, and post procedure learning needs. The nurse will work collaboratively to resolve identified patient issues in a timely manner and prevent avoidable cancellations and delays in completing ordered procedure. Timely and accurate documentation of findings according to hospital policy is required. The goal is to promote and restore patient’s health by completing the nursing process through collection, verification and organization of data. Panning for care, implementing and assessing the plan, evaluating their outcome, and planning for discharge are required integral elements of the nursing process. There is an “On Call” component to this position.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in ER/ICU, including delivery of sedation.

EDUCATION: Graduate of a Professional School of Nursing.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse. BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required. Competency delivering sedation will be maintained according to hospital policy. Department competencies will be performed bi-annually. Certification in a Nursing Specialty, such as CCRN, preferred.

Aptitudes: Must demonstrate cognitive and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Ability to achieve expected organizational behavioral standards. Open to feedback and a quickly changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling, equipment, and department assignments. Possesses interpersonal and communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Must be able to work effectively within a team and be able to contribute to a positive workplace.
