Job Details

As a Software Architect for Security at Salesforce, you’ll work across the entire stack from software to hardware, and across teams within the business unit. You will build advanced engineering and customer-facing security capabilities, guide tactical and operational security teams and partner with the Salesforce central security organization to protect our customers. You will define the vision to elevate Marketing Cloud security posture bringing latest industry innovation and capabilities of Salesforce Hyperforce platform. You will incept and supervise programs to harden the service fleet. You will introduce policies and processes that scale engineering organization operations. As a key member of the leadership team you will play an important role in transforming Marketing Cloud into a zero-trust environment for successful deployment and operation in the public cloud.

You will report directly to the Vice President of the service platform organization and engage with the leadership, executives and engineers across the board. Given the scope and potential for impact of the role, it has opportunity to grow multiple levels in the future.

Responsibilities:

Trust is Salesforce #1 value. Your key responsibility is to avert a compromise, breach or customer data leak by designing, evolving and testing Marketing Cloud security infrastructure in lock-step with the industry threat landscape.

  • Develop complete understanding of Marketing Cloud technology stack

  • Assess risks and weaknesses and identify security design or implementation gaps in existing products and services

  • Direct remediation efforts and operationalize detect-and-response capabilities.

  • Build secure-by-default environment covering production and non-production assets

  • Influence the product roadmap, work directly with leadership of Marketing Cloud to prioritize and execute.

  • Respond to security-related incidents

  • Represent Marketing Cloud engineering at broader Salesforce events and customer engagement activities.

  • Build Long-Range-Plans (LRP) targeting specific security aspects with broad impact across Salesforce product engineering.

  • You will work with multiple scrum teams directly and elevate their designs to meet security requirements. You will hire and grow engineering talent and up-level engineering organization.

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field

  • Engineering-level understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix)

  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, devices and network designs

  • 10+ years in security field (Pen-Tester, Blue Team, Security Researcher, etc.)

  • 10+ years building and shipping enterprise-grade software and/or services following SDLC (STRIDE threat modeling, etc)

  • Experience deploying and operating services in the public cloud (AWS, Azure)

  • Experience managing large scale project to completion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cracker mindset, intrinsically curious to identify vulnerabilities

  • Secure DLC (static analysis, stackhashing, application verifier, etc.)

  • Distributed systems experience, stateful services

  • Managed and native languages (C#, C++, Java, Go, Python)

  • Relational database servers (Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres)

  • Microsoft web stack (.NET, IIS, community and open source tools)

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $ 170,000 . You may also be entitled to receive bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
