Cardinal Health Senior Engineer, SAP S/4HANA Record-to-Report (R2R) and Finance in Helena, Montana
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP S/4HANA Record-to-Report (R2R) and Finance Senior Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of financial processes within our SAP S/4HANA environment. This role requires deep expertise in R2R processes, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and financial reporting, along with advanced S/4HANA capabilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and compliant financial solutions

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement SAP S/4HANA solutions for R2R and financial processes, including general ledger, financial close, asset accounting, and reporting.
Configure and manage key finance modules such as FI (Financial Accounting) and CO (Controlling), ensuring seamless integration with other modules (e.g., SD, MM, PP).
Leverage S/4HANA innovations such as Universal Journal, Advanced Financial Closing, and embedded analytics to enhance financial workflows.
Lead data migration efforts for financial master data and transactional data during S/4HANA implementations.
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and optimize financial processes, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance standards.
Utilize SAP FIORI apps, automation, and analytics to improve process efficiency and decision-making.
Design and implement internal controls and audit mechanisms to ensure financial data integrity and compliance.
Lead SAP S/4HANA finance-related implementation and upgrade projects, managing scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and ensure successful project execution.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and project teams.
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for SAP R2R and finance processes, addressing complex issues and providing long-term solutions.
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve potential risks or inefficiencies.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant financial regulations.
Partner with finance, IT, and business teams to align SAP solutions with organizational objectives.
Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives for end-users and technical teams on finance and R2R functionalities.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, workflows, and best practices.
Build and maintain financial reports and dashboards using S/4HANA embedded analytics and SAP reporting tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or SAP Finance certifications are highly desirable.
8+ years of experience in SAP FI/CO roles, with at least 3 years in SAP S/4HANA environments preferred.
Proven experience in leading SAP S/4HANA finance implementations or migrations.
Expertise in SAP S/4HANA finance and controlling modules, including Universal Journal, Asset Accounting, and Advanced Financial Closing.
Strong knowledge of integration points with other modules (e.g., SD, MM, PP) and external systems.
Proficiency in data migration tools (LTMC, LSMW) and data validation processes.
Hands-on experience with FIORI apps, CDS views, and embedded analytics for financial reporting.
Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Anticipated salary range: $121,600 - $173,700
