Cardinal Health Senior Software Development Engineer in Helena, Montana

A Senior Software Engineer technically guides the software development team as they create software solutions for the company. They serve as an in-house expert, both for managers from other departments who need software solutions and the less experienced staff within the commercial software development department. Senior Software Engineers typically lead software development projects, starting with collecting and studying the information and needs of the user. They look at different possible solutions and how feasible those options are. They’re also responsible for keeping the project on track, documenting everything and keeping proprietary information confidential

What Commercial Technologies Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Commercial Technologies manages the enterprise's portfolio of commercial technologies to maximize the business value of the technologies and enhance the customer experience. This function creates strategies for the portfolio and innovative solutions based on relationships with business leaders, develops back-end solutions and capabilities, and improves the front-end experience.

Commercial Technologies Software Engineering develops design options, process improvements and back-end solutions for commercial technologies to maximize performance and suitability for business needs. This job family manages engineering projects and plans for commercial technologies and interfaces with product managers to develop objectives. This job family assesses product systems, identifies opportunities for process and system improvements, and develops solutions through application of engineering principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical leadership for team in delivery of product capabilities and deliverables

  • Constantly demonstrates good process and practice

  • Proactively drives forward the development team to deliver of business goals and technical deliverables

  • Mentors junior members of the team

  • Works closely with product management and software product and innovation architects to define and refine requirements and product architecture.

  • Is responsible for driving design and approach through Enterprise ARB and Sonexus ARB

  • Ensures compliance with necessary standards and regulations

  • Builds software for reuse and scalability

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Over 8 years experience with Java

  • Experience with C# .Net programming

  • 7+ years experience in SaaS Cloud based software development, preferably with GCP and Azure

  • Experience with microservices and event driven architecture

  • Kafka experience preferred

  • Provides solutions which may set precedent

  • Independently determines method for completion of new projects

  • Receives guidance on overall project objectives

  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Anticipated salary range: $121,600 - $182,385
