The Digital Manufacturing Systems team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software engineer/ Senior Web Developer to help imagine and invent technology used to perfect the next generation of Ford manufacturing. In this position...

As a Senior Software Engineer/Senior Web Developer, you will be building software and collaborating across a broad spectrum of teams and various factory, IT, and testing teams to design and develop innovative solutions for Ford’s factory lines. You will also enjoy responsibility for maintaining and improving existing software.

Although this is a fully remote position, onsite work of up to three days per week may be required for candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub location. Please also expect 25-35% travel primarily within the United States.

What you'll do...

  • Creative thinking about highly complex challenges at scale

  • Anticipating the needs of our end customers often before they do

  • Create tools, dashboards and large-scale data stores.

  • Perform code reviews and refactoring exercises

  • Develop unit test plans and integration plans and help debug production issues

  • Utilize Git, Git Flow, and bug tracking systems in day-to-day development processes

  • Provide constructive feedback for testability and suitable solutions relying on data to support technical decisions

  • Some travel will be required (estimation is 25-35%).

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of experience with React and willingness to learn other frameworks as needed

  • 5 + years of development experience with Java, JavaScript, GoLang and/or Rust experience

  • 3+ years of HTML, CSS or similar front-end web development experience

Even better, you may have…

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

  • 8 + years of web development experience

  • High attention to detail

  • Strongly empathetic with the ability to partner with broad variety of internal partner teams and internal clients

  • Experience with data persistence and manipulation (snowflake, splunk, etc.)

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
