The Role at a Glance
You will act as a subject matter expert and lead the architecture of complex data solutions on AWS cloud and on-premises. You will work with a variety of emerging & traditional technologies. As part of a team, you will be involved in solution design from conceptual stage through the development life system. You will create, review, update, and approve the data architecture of project designs and ensure designs comply with business area strategy while solving for business requirements. You will also complete enterprise-level deliverables.
What you'll be doing
Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit.
Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability.
Provides and maintains subject matter expertise in analysis and design in consulting engagements regarding new and existing applications, environments, or processes.
Partners with business, SMEs, and other architects to assess current data landscape, identify challenges, and simplify data architecture with key measurable goals & roadmap.
Maintains a broad, deep understanding of business applications, data architecture, technical platforms, databases, industry technologies, and reference architecture.
Collaborates with internal teams to ensure integrity & security of assigned data architecture and measure impact of solution designs on IT infrastructure capacity, future maintenance / support needs, and bottom line cost-benefits.
Designs solutions, that can be scaled up/down, to host and integrate vast amount of data on AWS Cloud.
Translates complex functional & technical requirements into detailed architecture; designs and defines key artifacts at a project level.
Conducts product & application assessments and vendor evaluations as needed; guides these through the approved software governance processes to ensure technology is used within the corridor efficiently.
Ensures adherence to architecture standards (reference architecture / approved technology stacks) and best practices to maintain consistency across different projects.
Champions efforts to revitalize and redesign information systems & practices to improve effectiveness
Maintains high-level knowledge in the use and application of a broad range of relevant technology tools & disciplines. Willingly shares knowledge and use technology as a strategic business advantage.
Understands complex business problems & opportunities; identifies potential data architecture solutions. Conceptualizes complex systems solutions typically before full details are known.
Understands broad implications and financial impacts of proposed solutions on operational & infrastructure support. Exercises sound judgment and involves stakeholders in decision-making
Partners with business & other architects to ensure systems are designed, developed, and implemented from a business/customer point of view. Works effectively across the technology organization.
Develops and executes plans and organizes work to ensure delivery of results.
Promotes the use of shared infrastructure & applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. Ensures projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other or business & IT strategy.
Serves as an escalation point for issue resolution.
Communicates effectively with business partners, management, and other areas.
What we’re looking for
Must Haves:
4 Year/Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, or related field
5 – 7+ Years experience in design & development of operational data stores, data warehouses & data marts with experience in data acquisition, modeling, extraction, transformation, and loading directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role

Effective productivity/technology tools and training
The pay range for this position is $93,300 - $169,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
