Job Description
Memory technical lead in Oracle, supporting engineering, operations, OCI, Exadata and the field along all aspect of product life cycle (Concept/NPI/Sustaining/EOL) and who acts as the primary technical interface to internal engineering teams and memory suppliers.
Technical interface to commodity and program teams within Oracle, Provide input for memory RAS requirements to design teams and memory suppliers
Thorough understanding of various memory/DRAM technologies including operation, protocol, capabilities, interfaces, RAS, SI/PI requirements, etc.
Memory technical lead for Oracle supporting engineering, operations, OCI, Exadata and the field
Technical interface to commodity and program teams
Provide input for memory RAS requirements to design teams and memory suppliers
Primary technical interface to internal engineering teams and memory suppliers
NPI and sustaining
Drive issue triage, debug and resolution
Drive component sample requirements and procurement
Leads and manages memory related projects from concept, through NPI and sustaining
Leveraging across all products where possible
Assist OCI and Exadata teams on deciding which types/density/speed memory to productize
Manages sustaining DIMM quals via BDQ process
Determine which DIMMs to qualify, and on which platforms
Enumerate required tests, expected results and review of data
Responsible for reviewing and triaging all memory related bugs and failures
NPI and sustaining – engineering, factory and field
Primary technical interface supporting manufacturing memory related test implementation, issue resolution and process development
Monitor relevant JEDEC task group activity
Communicate pertinent information to Engineering, Memory Commodity and P-teams
ILOM (BMC) proficiency for testing and debug purposes
Basic Linux/OS proficiency
Basic programming skills – C, JAVA, etc.
Board design/layout analysis using Cadence tools
Working knowledge of signal and power integrity to help guide tradeoffs between motherboard and DIMM layout and design
Working knowledge of computer system architecture
Previous product development experience in addition to memory focus
Responsibilities
Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical components, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities that results in significant product enhancement. Activities encompass design, analysis, testing and process development using engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may include electrical and logical design of printed circuit boards or integrated circuits; mechanical design of electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design.

Hiring Range: from $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
