Job Summary:

As a Heavy Civil Superintendent for Ledcor, you will function as a field supervisor overseeing civil project operations on Earthwork construction projects and be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, workmanship, and assignment of work to accomplish project goals. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, architects/engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications and applicable policies and procedures and that efficiency in labor and materials maintain high quality standards
  • Ensures that site safety measures meet or exceed the parameters set out by corporate safety manual, safety plan, client requirements or any other authorities
  • Reviews, maintains and updates the construction schedule and ensures milestone and production targets are met
  • Reviews subtrade/supplier invoices against the field purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager or the accounting department
  • Hires and manages hourly employees as required to complete the project in consultation with the Project Manager and
  • Prepares field change orders to be signed by project owner or representative when requested
  • Conducts daily and weekly planning meetings with Maintenance and Operations to ensure equipment is being properly maintained while ensuring operational requirements are met

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel to project sites and stay at site for duration of the project, we operate on a national scale and projects are in small and large cities
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Superintendent, Project Manager or similar direct supervisory role in a Heavy Civil construction environment that is largely focused on Earthworks projects
  • Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule
  • Capacity to understand and interpret stakeholder needs and identify solutions to non-routine tasks or queries
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders
  • Capable of identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and spotting new, less obvious solutions

Working Conditions:

  • Site based position
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule that could include nights and weekends
  • Compensation Range $108,400 - $162,600.00
