JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor, FP&A is responsible for managing aspects of financial planning and reporting for all SDA operating and corporate expenses. Assist in facilitating the expense budget and planning process for Field, Support Operations, and Corporate Office. The assistant manager is also responsible for tracking, forecasting and analyses of all aspects of capital expenditures – this includes both PSE (Patient Service Equipment) and PPE (property plant and equipment). Lastly the assistant manager will help oversee and track strategic initiatives. The assistant manager will oversee one analyst.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with continued development of Forecasting and Modeling tools.

  • Oversee the budget and expense planning process for Field Operations and Support/corporate organizations and provide guidance and direction on budget preparation.

  • Prepare and oversee analyst for expense and capex analysis and materials (documents, PowerPoint presentations) to support executive leadership operations reviews including month end results vs. budget and forecast.

  • Financially evaluate cost saving opportunities and Strategic Initiative financial impacts. This includes partnering with various other departments to prepare analysis for management approval and if approved track to ensure ROI expectations are met.

  • On a monthly basis work on reforecasting major expense P&L lines by evaluating trends and getting feedback from other departments (e.g. delivery and IT).

  • On a monthly basis work with procurement, Real Estate, and IT on capital expenditure forecast.

  • Performs other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, performance appraisal and disciplining of one direct report.

Minimum Required Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • A major in Finance or Accounting preferred

  • Healthcare industry experience a plus

  • At least three to five years of related experience is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations

  • Designation such as MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Superior problem-solving skills

  • Ability to tear apart a complex problem, understand what is going on, put it all back together and ultimately communicate succinctly with senior leadership.

  • High sense of customer service both internally and externally

  • An eye for continual process improvement

  • Ability to see the big picture and see things from a strategic perspective

  • Ability to present information, analysis, and financial data in a clear, concise manner to non-financial managers and senior leadership

  • Demonstrated history of identifying and resolving a wide range of issues in imaginative and practical ways, as well as exercising good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions

  • Demonstrated strength working cross functionally to drive issue resolution, results driven, problem solver, self-starter

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency with MS Excel and preferably MS PowerPoint

  • Background in budget/forecast systems (Hyperion, TM1)

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

  • College-level mathematical skills required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting or standing, repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. It also may require occasional lifting, carrying, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching above the shoulder. Compensation

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.

  • Annual compensation is based on a 40 hour week.
