SVP, Engineering

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will lead all aspects of software engineering including development, QA, Testing Automation and Operations. You are expected to be a strategic thinker and innovator while mentoring a team of engineering leaders to broaden their skills. The SVP will work closely with Product Management to create new solutions and maintain current products. You will be responsible for driving engineering transformation and ensuring operational excellence using Agile Scrum methodology in a SaaS and other environments.

About the Role:

  • Lead a geographically dispersed engineering team to define, communicate, plan, align and execute a vision and strategy for a portion of Trellix’s solutions portfolio. This includes; prioritizing, determining resource and allocation needs, strategic development and product strategy, and creating a decision making framework that can be used to evaluate new product opportunities and to make build/buy/partner decisions

  • Hands on leadership and end to end responsibility of our Platform and Products working with other leaders in across Product, Architecture and Research

  • Support and lead technical conversations, including architecture review, code review, and drive SDLC process as required

  • Manage a large budget across multiple teams and markets

  • Work proactively to ensure our applications are resilient and secure working with our cybersecurity team

  • Lead full cycle development of strategic initiatives and provide overall technical guidance to all teams

  • Work closely with the platform product leader, creating a linkage between technology development and commercial outcomes

  • Shape and champion the future direction for the business unit to meet the changing needs of our clients and the market, inspiring teams within the business unit and cross functionally

  • Research, synthesize, and develop deep expertise on the landscape, trends and future direction of the cybersecurity market to ensure Trellix remains visionary in its solutions

  • Conduct strategic and product-level competitive analysis to gain an understanding of competitor strategies, strengths, weaknesses, to inform Trellix product strategy and GTM activities

  • Review product strategy regularly with business leaders to ensure alignment with top priorities and key business initiatives. Work across teams to drive initiatives, allocate resources, and achieve joint goals

  • Improve overall collaboration between the technology groups in different geographical locations

  • Lead, mentor, and coach the team to grow leaders and develop a high performance organization.

  • Drive continuous improvement, leading the organization through change initiatives to deliver better and more effective performance.

About You:

  • You will have deep career expertise across security, cloud operations, architecture, and product development.

  • A proven track record of achieving objectives for timely, high quality product releases and ensuring the field organization is enabled to successfully deliver on revenue targets.

  • The ability to develop an extended product roadmap which positions Trellix for long-term growth and success towards becoming the market leader in selected security solutions.

  • You possess technical expertise and operational experience to deliver technology solutions at scale.

  • You bring years of product leadership experience in a product led company, developing, and executing against a product roadmap that delivers revenue growth while delighting customers.

  • You understand the evolving threat landscape, the outcomes Trellix’s customers need to achieve and the capability requirements that customers have.

  • You’ve successfully developed new functionality and innovative products in the enterprise technology infrastructure sector with market success.

  • You are an effective team builder and leader, inspiring global organizations of engineers, creating positive team morale and spirit, while fostering an open, inclusive culture across multiple, geographically dispersed offices and remote workers.

  • You bring strong collaboration skills, effective at influencing across a large, global company with complex go-to-market and resource balancing requirement.

  • You are comfortable Interacting at an executive level on strategic product direction, including interacting with senior company leadership on complex processes and applying strong judgment and analysis toward important product led outcomes.

  • You bring experience building and leading expert product, data science, analytics, and engineering teams comprising both leaders and individual contributors, and are adept at figuring out ways to position them for success.

  • You have strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams, from executive leadership to the company as a whole

  • As an experienced change agent, you can lead change, think out of the box, & make new ideas happen.

  • You are collaborative, diplomatic, and humble. You have no problem rolling up your sleeves to help when needed.
