Job Description
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to design and implement DNS solutions using Infoblox technology, overseeing DNS and IP address management, and ensuring security compliance and optimization. This position is full-time, remote, and a long term contract.
What You'll Do:
Design and implement DNS solutions using Infoblox technology
Lead the deployment and migration of DNS services both on-premises and in the cloud
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DNS zones, records, and resolution policies
Implement DNS security measures, including DNSSEC
Perform DNS zone transfers, updates, and changes
Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot DNS performance, availability, and scalability
Oversee IP address allocation and management, ensuring efficient usage and accurate records
Develop and apply IPAM strategies for efficient IP space management, including subnetting and supernetting
Automate DNS configuration workflows and maintain scripts using REST APIs
Integrate Infoblox solutions with other network management and monitoring tools
Monitor the performance and health of DNS and DHCP services, addressing issues promptly
Generate reports on DNS and IP address utilization, providing insights and recommendations for optimization
Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards
Assist in auditing DNS and IPAM configurations to identify and mitigate potential risks
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM-related issues
Collaborate with network and security teams to resolve complex networking issues
Maintain comprehensive documentation of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM configurations and processes
Train and support administrators and other IT staff on Infoblox technologies
What You'll Need
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
At least 7 years of experience in DNS architecture and administration
At least 5 years of experience with Infoblox
In-depth knowledge of DNS protocols, DNSSEC, and related technologies
Experience with DNS management platforms like Infoblox, BIND, and Microsoft DNS
Experience with external DNS service providers such as AWS Route53, Akamai, Cloudflare, and PCH
Experience with Infoblox API and ServiceNow integration
Experience with DNS security and compliance
Strong understanding of DNS protocols, standards, and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting
Desired:
- Infoblox certifications are a plus
Physical Demands:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
