Facebook Shops is a company-level priority to empower businesses to tell their brand story and reach buyers across our family of apps. Today, people already seek shopping inspiration in content and conversation from communities all over Facebook – across News Feed, Video, Groups, Pages, Live, and more. We are growing an ecosystem of fresh, engaging shoppable content created by trusted connections (friends, influencers, community experts, brands you follow) – a unique asset that other ecommerce competitors wish they had.
“Connected Commerce” is the team that sits within the Facebook App Commerce org and is accountable for B2C ecommerce on Facebook. This includes our investments in Shoppable Content, FB shops (single-brand storefronts), FB Shop Tab (a new multi-brand shopping destination, separate from Marketplace) and more.
We're looking for a strong TPM for the Shoppable Content team, where our mission is to drive production of more inspiring content from brands, creators (e.g. influencers, media publishers) and ultimately from all of our users. As TPM, you will be a technical leader with the experience to drive complex programs both within the Shoppable Content team and across the Connected Commerce organization.
We’re building a 0 to 1 product to connect, inspire, and enable discovery of shoppable content between brands and sellers with consumers. Especially in this critical time of Covid and the economic difficulties hitting SMBs (small and medium businesses), our mission has a very direct and real impact in helping people’s lives.
Manage cross-functional programs by working with product development teams, business teams, as well as external partners around the world.
Tackle complex problems with a strategic mindset and create programs for solving those problems.
Maintain the team's focus on strategy and goal-oriented results.
Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.
Communicate status and big picture to the project team and management.
Proactively identify upcoming risks, issues, and bottlenecks and resolve cross-team issues.
Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases.
Balance the business needs with technical constraints by building deep subject matter expertise for your area.
Proactively identify inefficiencies that are holding the team back, and drive better, more efficient workflows.
Drive internal process improvements, remove gaps across multiple teams and ensure teams are working on high-impact projects that align with the company mission and goals.
Assess business impact, prioritize initiatives, and quickly react to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience.
Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery.
Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience.
Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
Experience with Ecommerce and B2C use cases.
Experience building a 0-1 consumer-facing product.
