The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is hiring for entry-level TSOs (Transportation Security Officers) in Helena! A job with TSA offers stability, growth potential and great federal benefits for part-time workers. - Starting pay: $18.96 per hour - Extra 10 percent pay for hours before 6 am, or after 6 pm - Extra 25 percent for Sunday hours - Pay increases to $28.73 per hour after 2 years - Full federal benefits on 1st day for PT Job Description TSOs are responsible for providing security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner. Their duties may also extend to securing high-profile events, important figures and/or anything that includes or impacts our transportation systems. TSO Daily Responsibilities - Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and/or on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft - Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (pat downs, property searches) conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins and property weighing up to 50lbs. - Controlling terminal entry and exit points - Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries - Retaining and implementing knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures Eligibility - TSA accepts candidates of all different backgrounds and experience levels.
