Description:Under supervision of the IT&S Director, this position performs technical work in the design, programming, testing, installation, and maintenance of all web-based technology including social media support.Requirements:The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to an bachelors degree or equivalent and three (3) years? experience developing systems using client/server technology including development of web pages.Duties and Responsibilities:Essential FunctionsProvides input regarding City/County strategic direction for website software platforms, social media platforms, and related technology;Participates in and leads web based technology project planning, web site design, and social media integrations;Gathers feedback from various departments and divisions on website development needs and assist in developing solutions to meet those needs;Maintains security for the content platforms, technology, and web server environment;Researches capabilities and functionality for website efficiency;Builds user interface applications and back-end databases using various programming and scripting languages;Trains content managers to confidently update website and social media content;Authors and manages web pages on multiple city/county-maintained websites;Collaborates with users and other IT personnel to complete the full scope of web-based technology projects;Conducts user research to determine design requirements and analyze user feedback to improve design quality;Works with web committees to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, and provide solutions;Researches, recommends, and implements web technologies and website standards (ADA, WCAG, privacy policies, etc); Conceptualizes long-term needs of web development, plans, and manages related projects; Supports customers on all web related requests utilizing helpdesk ticketing software;Provides recommendations on web-based technical standards for specific web sites and the company as a whole; Works closely with City/County Communication and community outreach coordinators, web committees;Reviews policies and procedures and makes necessary recommendations;Engages content managers by highlighting, promoting existing, and informing on anticipated tools;Performs other duties as assigned.
