SANDERS COUNTY TRANSPORTATION Information & Assistance Specialist in HOT SPRINGS, Montana

To manage all aspects of Helping Services programs (Information and Assistance, Home delivered meals, Homemaker, Respite and CFSP Commodities). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as Program Coordination for all Helping Services (Homemaker, Respite, and Information and Assistance programs) Assists in the preparation and administration of Helping Services grant budgets. Assists with other Nutrition and Transportation programs as necessary, including but not limited to, handling money and performing in-home evaluations. Supporting older adults in Sanders County by assessing their needs, identifying the most appropriate services to meet their needs and linking persons to agencies in the community (county or state if not available locally) providing these services. Assists agency departments in preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly program reports and data entry as may be required (Including MASTS, Iris, and other reporting). Assists in coordination of CFSP (Senior Commodities) program with Centers, Board members and/or volunteers. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with the Executive Director on community outreach. Works closely with Centers, Partner Agencies, and SCCOA volunteers. Identifies both accomplishments and problem areas and works to recognize achievements and implement solutions. Provides Information and Assistance to clients both in the main agency office, local Senior Centers, and/or during in-home visits throughout the county. Provides clients with accurate information regarding services and/or directs them to appropriate resources. Attends various Senior Center activities including but not limited to meals, board meetings, and events as assigned. Assists with event planning and execution. Exhibits good work habits including attendance and punctuality. Presents a neat appearance and competent manner. Demonstrates enthusiasm for his/her work, and compassion for the needs of the elderly and/or disabled. Maintains strict SCCOA and client confidentiality. Other job-related duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years experience in Social Services or Business environment. Successful completion of annual Montana State Health Insurance Program certification required. Successful completion of annual Information and Assistance certification required. Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory. REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to understand the administration and operation of a non-profit agency. Ability to keep accurate and detailed records. Computer literacy with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications. Pleasant personality and ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to work independently, and appropriately prioritize assignments. MT Driver's license with clean record PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The Assistant Program Coordinator must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to sit for long periods. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, twist, climb, push, and pull. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Work is typically performed in an office setting, and the nature of the work requires exposure to noise, office equipment, and occasionally to office chemicals including but not limited to toners, inks, and solvents. REQUIRED PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTS: Background check Drug Screen SUPERVISION/PROBATION/REVIEW: The Assistant Program Coordinator will report directly to the Program Coordinator and/or the Executive Director. Initial probationary period is six months, after which a progress review will be conducted. Annual reviews will be conducted thereafter.
