Bureau of Reclamation Laborer in Hungry Horse, Montana

Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Laborer. Duty Location: Hungry Horse, Montana https://www.usbr.gov/pn/about/hr/area-information.html Responsibilities - Performs routine manual laborer work in and around powerplants and such related structures as powerplant, dam, reservoir and associated equipment. - Uses hand tools and equipment (power driven and manual) common to the laborer trade and performs minor adjustments, maintenance and repairs to equipment used in performance of duties. - Performs general landscaping and cleaning of roadside slopes and banks, drainage ditches and culverts utilizing hand tools. - Performs janitorial duties. - Operates pick-up trucks up to and including one-ton trucks equipped with power operated winches, lift gates and snow plows. May be required to operate forklifts, scissor lifts or JLG lifts. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). The Laborer position has a 3 step pay system and applicants initially hired into this position/pay system will be hired at the step 1 wage rate of $28.81 per hour. After a one-year period from the date of hire and upon performing successfully in this position and approved by the supervisor, the incumbent may be advanced to the step 2 wage rate of $30.02 per hour. Again, after a one-year period, successful job performance and supervisory approval, the incumbent may be advanced to the step 3 wage rate of $31.21 per hour. Annual wage adjustments are reviewed and adjusted the first full pay period in May of each year. Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster. Related non-Federal experience or related experience as retired members of the uniformed services may be credited towards computing entitlement to leave accrual, at managerial discretion, providing that experience meets certain criteria.
