Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to perform power line installation, maintenance, and service work. Tasks include working on overhead and underground construction, operation, and maintenance in electrical transmission, substation, and distribution systems. Must have ability to operate digger derricks, bucket trucks and equipment used in the utility business. The Lineman will be at times the person in charge as a Crew Foreman. As a Crew Foreman, may oversee all aspects of a project; including safety, paperwork, planning, coordinating with engineers, and documenting equipment used. May be required to work at extreme heights in adverse weather conditions, perform repetitive lifting of at least 80 pounds, and be exposed to noise and dangerous conditions. Applicants must hold experience in hot work and have previous Journeyman Lineman work experience. The successful candidate will eventually be added to the after-hours call-out list to respond to outage or emergency situations on a rotating basis and must reside 20 minutes driving time from the Huntley Service Center. Minimum qualifications include high school degree or equivalent and completion of approved apprentice and OSHA training programs required. Valid Montana Commercial Driver's License, first aid card, and Journeyman Card required. Fire Retardant (FR) is required and provided by the Cooperative. Wage: Position is union scale $117,395.20 annually + overtime. 6-month probationary period applies. Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc.
