Job Objective: Performs all duties in regard to Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Management. Posts charges, payments, and adjustments. Familiar with KME equipment and supplies. Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement. Performs all collection duties as policy and procedure dictate.
*Responsible for all Medicare, Medicaid, and Case Management Insurance denials. Will work closely with billing supervisor to ensure the denials are worked timely.
*Responsible for all insurance appeals. Will work with specialty billing representatives to ensure complete and accurate appeals. Will monitor and track current outstanding appeals to ensure they are processed timely and correctly.
*Functions as an advocate for KME patients, answering questions over the phone and in person; assists other billing representatives when needed.
*Posts Medicaid and Case Management weekly Electronic Remittance payment batches in billing software.
*Billing specialist for Urological, Wound Care, Ostomy, and Breast Prosthesis. This includes pre-billing medical records certification, and order confirmation.
*Responsible for working bills on hold report and open sales order report for previous billing specialist categories on a monthly basis.
*Responsible for working Medicare, Medicaid, and Case Management aging reports on a monthly basis ensuring timely claim filing and payment.
*Works with Case Management as the main point of contact, providing quotes and any other help needed to get equipment authorized. Tracks authorizations to ensure proper billing and payment
Minimum one (1) year work experience in medical reimbursement and billing.
Working knowledge of third party payor policies and reimbursement schedules.
Proficient with basic accounting and ten-key by touch.
Prior experience with business mathematical tasks and correspondence.
Strong communication skills verbally and in writing, over the telephone, and in person.
Strong organizational skills.
