Job Objective: Assists with patient/member treatment and care within the Summit Clinical Program and the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation unit under the direct supervision of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialists/Supervisor. Services all populations, as needed (pediatric, adult and geriatric). Completes data entry and clerical tasks as assigned.
*Pro-actively provides patient treatment and care in an organized, efficient manner in compliance with The Summit Medical Fitness Center and KRMC’s Cardiac Rehabilitation department policies, protocols and procedures under the direction of a Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist and or Supervisor (if present).
*Properly assesses vital signs of patients/members: blood pressure technique, pulse oximeter use, and weight scale.
*Recognizes situations requiring MD notification/code/etc.
*Demonstrates proper set-up (seat adjustments, intensity, etc) of patients/members on each exercise machine in Cardiac Rehabilitation exercise area.
*Demonstrates working knowledge of Rate of Perceived Exertion Scale (RPE). Is able to verbally describe its use to new patients.
*Properly demonstrates standard stretching exercises used in Healthy Hearts/Cardiac Rehabilitation.
*Maintains working knowledge of the software program used for outcomes and data management: Is able to properly utilize the system, assists in data entry of the Health History Questionnaire, physical evaluation, Process Surveys to generate the Goals and Action Plan and Follow-up Reporting tools, etc.
*Responsible for maintaining inventory of Cardiac Rehabilitation therapy supplies, – matching orders received with invoices to ensure proper billing.
*Provide an atmosphere of trust, honesty, and integrity, ensuring that each patient/member feels genuinely supported by the staff and the team.
*Provide positive feedback for the patient/member to inspire further motivation for goal attainment.
High School graduate or GED preferred.
Current Healthcare Provider CPR and AED certification required.
Current Montana CNA, CMA, or EMT license or a personal training certification through ACE, NSCA, ACSM or other nationally accredited organization recognized by the MedicalFitness Association (A BS or MS in Exercise related field will suffice if applicant does nothave current certification).
Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
Clinical and/or teaching/patient education experience preferred.
