Logan Health Clinical Informaticist in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position manages data, knowledge, and information to enhance clinical information systems. Serves as a resource in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings.

Prefer someone with some Oracle experience and some Meditec experience would be a plus but neither is required.

*This is a Hybrid role (2 days in the office). Strongly prefer someone who resides within the state of Montana.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following licensure required, dependent upon assigned specialty. **Montana state licensure not required.

  • CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist)

  • Registered and certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

  • RN License

  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills required.

  • Additional requirements as applicable to assigned area(s):

  • Enterprise Imaging:

  • Must successfully obtain PACS (CIIP,CPSA), OS or basic network certification within two (2) years of hire.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

  • Highly proficient in radiology procedures and equipment including C-Arm and portable equipment in a surgical environment.

  • Health Information Technology (HIT):

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ recent acute care experience with experience in selecting and implementing informatics programs or EMR system.

  • Experience with Meditech Patient Care System (PCS), Bedside Medication Verification (BMV), Order Entry, Meditech Web Ambulatory, or similar EMR system.

  • Preferred as applicable to assigned area(s):

  • Health Information Technology (HIT):

  • Nursing Informatics Certification

  • BSN

  • Current RQI Provider certification

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • As applicable to assigned area(s): Plans, develops, and implements assigned specialty informatics programs, products, and services to address the clinical needs of patients and support the practices of the clinical staff and physicians. Develops informatics interest and discipline within Logan Health.

  • Implements informatics solutions that support quality and safety improvement. Participates in corporate and facility initiatives to improve quality and safety utilizing information technology. Implements solutions that demonstrate measurable improvement in quality and/or safety.

  • Functions as internal consultant, resource person and teacher in relation to assigned specialty informatics. Responds and assists customers immediately upon request and follows up on previous interactions to ensure issue resolution and/or escalation.

  • Exhibits effective system implementation that results in measured improvement in quality, safety and/or efficiency and meets end-user expectations as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • Identifies problems, probable causes, impact on operations, reports to the appropriate parties, offers possible solutions, and recommends an optimal course of action. Independently and/or collaboratively brings problems to a complete resolution.

  • Utilizes research methods and reporting skills to create and analyze statistical data as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • As applicable to assigned area(s): Serves as computerized documentation liaison to the physicians. Represents assigned specialty workflow concerns in discussions.

  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of assigned specialty informatics including, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and informatics best practices. .

  • As applicable to assigned area(s): Works closely with leadership in the development of operating standards, policies, procedures, and training programs. Reviews feedback from system users, compiles and analyzes support data and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.

  • Participates in all phases of installation, implementation, and training of new systems, applications, and upgrades as applicable to assigned area(s).

  • As applicable to Enterprise Imaging: Develops expertise in the Enterprise Imaging System to create and execute reports to complete needed QC/QA/QI functions. Verifies QC testing performed at appropriate intervals and documents for all modalities within Radiology. Oversees and performs QC testing for all Diagnostic Imaging, CR & DR equipment. Defines QC Standards and works with appropriate stakeholders to ensure standards are communicated. Responsible for collecting, calculating, evaluating and presenting x-ray repeat rate and technical recall.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
