Kalispell Regional Healthcare Driver, Medical Supply & Support Tech - Brendan House in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

This position is responsible for transporting residents to and from the hospital and clinics for tests, treatments, therapies, admissions, etc. Responsible for maintaining supply storeroom and the stocking of supplies. This position is part of the Brendan House team and shares the responsibility of caring for the residents, family members and guests, employees and the facility.

Responsibilities

  1. *Transports current residents for scheduled tests, treatments, therapies, admissions, transfers, etc. within the building or to other local facilities by company van/bus. Uses lift and tie down system in a safe appropriate manner. Assures resident comfort and safety at all times.

  2. *Assists with maintaining storeroom by placing orders for supplies, receiving and checking in orders for accuracy.

  3. *Tags items with appropriate charge codes and completes stock rotation. Consistently maintains a neat and orderly storeroom.

  4. *Regularly checks for outdates, removes outdated items consistently in storeroom and nurses stations per department procedure.

  5. *Responsible for the stocking of nurses stations with adequate supplies and communicates with designated personnel regarding supply needs.

  6. *Utilizes Meditech system for issuing supplies, checking par levels and inventory counts on an ongoing basis to maintain accurate count on shelves.

  7. *Performs routine rounds to facilitate the pick-up and delivery of pharmacy supplies, lab samples, inter-facility mail, etc. as designated per department protocol.

  8. *Assesses equipment needs, maintains adequate supply and ensures the working order. Assures adequate supply of oxygen equipment needs, e-cylinders, regulators, concentrators, (including update of concentrator list and other lists as needed.)

  9. *Gathers soiled linen for transport to hospital laundry. Places clean linen from hospital laundry appropriately, keeping area neat and organized. Refills blanket warmers. Assures adequate supply of linen and quality of linen.

  10. *Assists with life safety including, but not limited to; fire drills, checking of fire extinguishers, etc.

  11. *Assists with personal laundry of residents as needed

Qualifications

  1. Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license; a good driving record clear of moving violations in the past five (5) years and no major driving offenses (DUI, etc.).

  2. Current Heart Saver AED CPR.

  3. Prior office experience to include; typing accurately, answering phones, and remaining calm in stressful situations required.

  4. Must have computer skills using Microsoft Word and Outlook required and the ability to learn other software as needed. Experience with Meditech preferred.

  5. Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness required. Must possess professional communication skills, both verbal and written, and work effectively with a diverse customer and coworker population.

  6. Post high school education or vocational training preferred.

  7. Prior experience in long term care or similar environment preferred.

  8. Ability to perform all job duties in accordance with State of MT laws related to long-term
