Logan Health EEG Neurodiagnostic Technologist- $5,000 Sign-on Bonus in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position operates specialized equipment which measures and records electrical activity of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and spinal cord. Performs under the physician’s clinical supervision and assists in the delivery of patient care and treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience and/or training in assisting with EEG testing and procedures as directed by a physician required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a health care facility preferred.

  • R.EEG.T (Registered Encephalographic Technologist) Credential through ABRET (Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation) or equivalent required.

  • Current RQI Provider CPR preferred or must successfully obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred. Possess ability to maintain records, interpret and record data required.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Performs noninvasive neurological tests on patients utilizing a variety of equipment and as directed by physicians for assigned area(s).

  • Assists in the analysis and diagnosis of disorders in the brain and nervous system such as brain tumors, sleep disorders, strokes and epilepsy.

  • Thoroughly explains the procedure to the patient per department protocol.

  • Measures and marks areas of the body to place electrodes. Prepares monitoring equipment and places electrodes appropriately.

  • Data enters physician-approved orders for neurodiagnostic testing in EMR per department protocol.

  • Accurately and timely prepares testing reports for physician review.

  • Works collaboratively with providers, clinical staff and other departments to meet the physical, psychosocial, education and spiritual needs of the patient and family.

  • Maintains and troubleshoots EEG equipment and notifies leadership as appropriate.

  • Participates in process improvement and/or risk related departmental activities.

  • Incorporates population specific needs into all aspects of communication and patient care per department protocol.

  • Provides administrative support to assigned area(s).

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
