  • Respond to hazardous materials spills, leaks and situations in an offensive fashion. Operations of site(s) hazmat, chemical storage, and lab spaces according to stated requirements. Ensure reliable consistent operation according to directions, stated requirements, and specifications of each job or the approval of management

  • Uses advanced equipment, such as pH meters, mass spectrometry and gas chromatography, to detect, identify, and monitor hazardous materials

  • Manages non-hazardous and hazardous waste, decontaminates product or tools, manages chemical storage thru inventory systems or BKM. Aids and, administrates waste disposal

  • Analyzes malfunctioning hazmat systems and machines, recommends corrective action, and makes minor repairs, or other type of modifications

  • Use machine tools and hand tools working with a variety of materials, working within the prescribed tolerances as directed.

  • Maintains a working understanding of facilities and production processes, performs maintenance effectively by “BKM” (best known method), OEM practice or general direction.

  • Works in cooperation with Engineering, production supervisory, or other stake holders within the company, works with other personnel outside of the company when directed.

  • Respond to Emergency Response Team (ERT) events and evacuations to support

troubleshooting and operations of facilities systems (i.e. Process piping, Hazmat and Lab systems).

  • Emergency Call-Out

  • Facilities Specialist shall respond to emergency requests for normal and out-of-hours operation. various situations of varying levels of urgency.

  • Support life safety operations: Fire system, emergency lighting, chemical spills, and gas detection.

  • Meeting regulatory, ISO and safety compliance for Hazmat, chemical storage

  • This position is a full-time position and may require the availability to work some weekends, and occasional holidays.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available

• No experience required and on the job training provided

• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Customer service experience

• 1 year of similar work experience

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain buildings/facilities

• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures

• Notify Manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems

• Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.

• Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities

• Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment

• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks

• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees

• Wash and replace blinds

• Gather and empty trash

• Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks

• Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas

• Service, clean, and supply restrooms

A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
