Job Description Summary:
Acupuncture promotes healing by enhancing immunity and strengthens recuperative power to benefit emotional and physical health. Join our team and help patients achieve optimal health through acupuncture.
Qualifications:
National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) required.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Formulates herbal preparations to treat conditions considering herbal properties such as taste, toxicity, effects of preparation, contraindications and incompatibilities.
Maintains and follows standard quality, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures.
Maintains detailed and complete records of health care plans and prognoses.
Adheres to local, state and federal laws, regulations and statues.
Assesses patient’s general physical appearance to make diagnoses.
Collects medical histories, general health and life style information of patient.
Dispenses herbal formulas and informs patients of dosages and frequencies, treatment duration, possible side effects and drug interactions.
Considers Western medical procedures in health assessment, health care team communication, and care referrals.
Treats patients utilizing tools such as needles, cups, ear balls, seeds, pellets, and nutritional supplements. Inserts needles to provide acupuncture treatment.
Educates patients on topics such as meditation, ergonomics, stretching, exercise, nutrition, the healing process, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Evaluates treatment outcomes and recommends new or altered treatments as necessary to further promote, restore, or maintain health.
Applies heat or cold therapy to patients utilizing materials such as heat pads, hydrocollator packs, warm/cold compresses, heat lamps and vapor coolants.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
