Logan Health Information Services (IS) Security Administrator in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

This position completes tasks designed to ensure security of Logan Health’s (LH) systems and information assets. Responsible for building digital security protocols, operating a cyber-security system, and maintaining an IS security infrastructure for LH.

This position can be remote or in person at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana. To be eligible to work remotely for Logan Health, you must reside in one of the following approved states:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field.

  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a security analyst or related role required.

  • Possess problem-solving and analytical skills required.

  • Knowledge of security systems including; anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems, intrusion detection, and notification systems required.

  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles required.

  • Industry Certification such as Security+,CEH, or GIAC preferred.

  • Proficient, with a broad array of security software, applications, and tools preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Develops, executes, and tracks the performance of security measures to protect information, network infrastructure, and computer systems.

  • Identifies, defines, and documents system security requirements and recommends solutions to leadership.

  • Configures, troubleshoots, installs, and maintains security infrastructure software and hardware while monitoring for security breaches or intrusions.

  • Monitors systems for irregular behavior and establishes preventive measures.

  • Plans, develops, implements, and updates Logan Health Information Security strategies.

  • Educates and trains staff on information system security best practices.

  • Collaborates with users on computer data access needs, identifies security threats and violations, identifies, and recommends needed programming or process changes.

  • Reviews violations of security procedures and provides training to eliminate further violations.

  • Monitors and restricts access to sensitive, confidential, and/or high-security data.

  • Modifies security files and applications per department protocol. Provides specialized access, allows new software installation and/or integration and corrects errors.

  • Performs risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures.

  • Safeguards system security and improves overall server and network efficiency by training users and promoting security awareness.

  • Stays up-to-date on latest security threats, trends, and technologies.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
