Kalispell Regional Healthcare Institutional Review Board Coordinator in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

This position provides coordination and administrative support for the Kalispell Regional Medical Center (KRMC) Institutional Review Board (IRB). Acts as a liaison in the coordination of the IRB functions with assigned leadership and Research Coordinators of KRMC’s Glacier View Research Institute (GVRI).

Responsibilities

  1. *Coordinates the administrative review process for the clinical trial protocols. Works in collaboration with the IRB Chairperson in carrying out IRB functions.

  2. *Coordinates the scheduling of and provides administrative support for IRB meetings.

  3. *Reviews clinical trial regulatory documents, organizes review, and provides oversight and reporting functions. Requests revisions to research documentation as needed to meet requirements of IRB Handbook

  4. *Acts as liaison between GVRI, other identified studies, and the IRB. Professionally interacts with GVRI Principal Investigators, study and regulatory coordinators, clinical trial sponsors, and clinical research organization representatives per department protocol.

  5. *Maintains documents to ensure IRB oversight and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements and clinical trials protocols.

  6. *Efficiently and professionally interacts and communicates with various stakeholders, federal, state and health care organizations as appropriate.

  7. *Works with assigned leadership to develop, modify, and implement policies and procedures related to IRB functions.

  8. *Performs administrative tasks to support the IRB Chairperson and daily operations of the IRB.

  9. *Provides the IRB regulatory document submissions and correspondence to the clinical research and IRB members. Ensures compliance with the IRB Handbook and IRB policies and procedures. Responsible for the submitting of information as required by federal law.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare environment or experience working with complex administrative support tasks required.

  2. Must possess excellent computer skills to include proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Must possess ability to quickly learn other computer applications.

  3. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  6. Possess comprehensive working knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to the federal Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), CMS and/or other contracted payers provider enrollment preferred.
