Logan Health Lead Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description Summary:

Logan Health Medical Center, located in Kalispell, Montana, is looking for a Lead Respiratory Therapist to be part of their team.

This position leads and assures quality performance of all patient care provided by the assigned area(s). Trains staff in all clinical functions and balances time and effort between leading and performing patient care. Provides general and emergency respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and/or protocol.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in active Critical Care Unit required.

  • Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License required.

  • Current Healthcare provider BLS, ACLS certification required.

  • PALS and NRP certifications must be successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize changes in the patient's condition, make independent judgments, and modify the care as necessary according to departmental standards and approved physician protocols.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills preferred. .

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Performs with high degree of competence, all aspects of respiratory care delivered.

  • Displays clinical knowledge and manipulative skills regarding the care, operation, servicing, and repair of all Pulmonary Services equipment. Makes appropriate repairs and maintenance as necessary. Brings non-functional equipment to the attention of assigned leadership.

  • Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients.

  • Monitors the proper utilization of Respiratory Care systems. Adjusts staffing levels to meet workload demands. Functions as a resource therapist and assists with patient care.

  • In collaboration with assigned leadership identifies educational programs to maintain and develop skills of staff.

  • Coordinates service, care and/or assists with patient discharge planning.

  • Provides developmental appropriate care to support patients of all ages. Demonstrates competence in the care of all population groups of patients as applicable to assigned area(s). Determines each patient’s age-related, physical, psycho social and cultural needs for carrying out-patient care activities.

  • Lead may be expected to perform one (1) or more of the following tasks regularly:

  • Creates work schedule and assigns employees to specific work tasks.

  • Trains or coordinates the training of employees.

  • Oversees and coordinates successful completion of employees’ competency assessments and required training.

  • Acts as point-of-contact/subject matter expert for employee questions about expectations and processes.

  • Assists in interviewing job candidates.

  • Leads or coordinates compliance and quality efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned at the discretion of management, excluding issuing corrective actions or administering performance evaluations.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
