Kalispell Regional Healthcare LPN - Surgery Center in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

Provides practical nursing care to patients in assigned unit(s). This care shall be rendered in a safe and effective manner that is consistent with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. *Exhibits a commitment to professionalism, civility, teamwork and customer service while undertaking all tasks and interactions with others.

  2. *Exhibits knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to the LPN’s specific job duties, patient care, and safety. Complies with and maintains regulatory compliance requirements as defined for the nursing care on the unit and according to hospital standards.

  3. *Operates and maintains equipment to departmental standards. Maintains nursing standards of care, and executes appropriate physician orders. While executing patient care, exhibits knowledge of and maintains the patient’s right to diversity, privacy and confidentiality.

  4. *Performs a comprehensive assessment of patient at regular intervals appropriate for the condition of the patient under the direction of the charge RN and as ordered by the physician/provider.

  5. *Administers medications, treatments, physician/provider specified care and intravenous therapy to patients in compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures and LPN scope of practice.

  6. *Reassesses the patient to monitor status, identify changes in vital signs, lab work and implement interventions as ordered or defined. Assesses and evaluates the patient responses to treatment or therapy in compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.

  7. *Communicates all appropriate and critical changes in the patient’s condition, status and findings to the appropriate physician/provider in a timely manner or as defined by policies and procedures and/or physician/provider orders.

  8. *Charts all clinical findings in an accurate and timely manner as required by regulatory mandates to maintain compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures or as defined by regulatory requirements.

  9. *Exhibits competency/currency in unit specific competencies within 60-days of employment.

  10. *Performs administrative and technical skills in an organized and accurate manner according to policy and procedures.

Qualifications

  1. Current Montana LPN License required.

  2. Current RQI Provider CPR preferred or must successfully obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.

  3. Possess knowledge of professional nursing theory to give and evaluate patient care, as well as knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology.

  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
