Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our sawmill team. Reporting to the Boiler Manager, this role focuses on maintaining and repairing plant equipment, including truck dump systems, chains, sprockets, bearings, gearboxes, and boiler components. The Millwright also assists with fire system resets and leak repairs while working closely with boiler personnel, kiln operators, and maintenance teams.
Qualifications:Must be 18 years or older1-3 years of experience in equipment repair and fabricationStrong knowledge of industrial mechanics (hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical systems)Preferred experience in welding, metal fabrication, and general constructionAbility to troubleshoot and quickly diagnose mechanical issuesMust provide basic tools for job functions
Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance on truck dump and hog fuel equipmentAssist with equipment repairs, fabrication, and construction projectsTroubleshoot and repair plant fire systemsWork on critical repairs and upgrades for power plant systemsKeep inventory of parts and request necessary materialsFollow safety procedures including lockout, fall protection, and confined space entryWork in various conditions, including tight spaces, high noise levels, and exposure to wood dust and ash
Physical Demands:Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spacesExposure to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments
