Logan Health Mammography Technologist in Kalispell, Montana
Job Description Summary:

This position performs breast ultrasound images, mammography imaging, DEXA scans, and/or bone density (DXA) per scope of position and as applicable to assigned area(s). Performs general patient throughput including preparation and post processing.
Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited school of Radiological Technology required.
Current ARRT certification required. Mammography certification preferred or must be successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Valid Montana State Radiologic Technologist license required.
BLS required.
Current Drivers’ License required as applicable to assigned area(s). Must possess a good driving record clear of moving violations in the past five (5) years and no major driving offenses (DUI, etc.).
To be eligible for the breast sonography portion of the position: certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience as mammography technologist preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year work experience in one (1) of the following specialty areas preferred:
Quality control
Breast sonography
Stereotactic biopsies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Job Specific Duties:
Properly identifies and prepares patient for exam. Explains exam and strives to ensure patient comfort.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environments by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
Obtains meaningful history of scheduled procedure and other exam related information. Documents patients’ mammography related visit by completing accurate patient record charting.
Processes images and prepares cases for Radiologist review. Completes appropriate documentation per department protocol.
Ensures the patient understands the results and available options as defined by the Radiologist.
Performs arrival, end of day, and next day preparation duties per department procedure and protocol as applicable to assigned area(s).
Assists in the review of current procedure manual and/or protocols for procedures performed within the department. Assists leadership and appropriate stakeholders in preparing for ACR and FDA accreditation.
Assists with daily departmental upkeep including, but not limited to; housekeeping, stocking, inventory control, etc.
Participates in mammography related educational opportunities, reviews professional publications and/or participates in professional organizations.

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
