Job Description Summary:
Leads and coordinates all labor relations and recommends labor strategies to CHRO and other leaders as appropriate. Directs and oversees the design, implementation and maintenance of Logan Health’s labor relations program and policies. Represents Logan Health in labor-management relations, including contract negotiations and arbitration cases. Administers and interprets collective bargaining agreements, and establishes policies for reporting and addressing grievances.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business or equivalent required.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in complex labor relations experience including bargaining required.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in employee related investigations required.
Minimum of three (3) years’ leadership experience required.
First chair negotiations experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate and build relationships at all levels. Possess strong conflict management skills.
Must possess considerable knowledge of manager labor relations; principles, practices and procedures of HR. Proven results in demonstrating excellent facilitation skills required.
Proficient knowledge of employment, wage and hour, FMLA and EEO laws preferred.
Possess ability to collaborate with diverse personalities, in a tactful, mature, and flexible way. Possess good reasoning abilities with sound judgment. Ability to persuade others into mutual beneficial goals and settlements.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:
Oversees the design, implementation and maintenance of Logan Health’s labor relations program and policies.
Represents Logan Health in labor-management relations, including contract negotiations and arbitration cases.
Administers and interprets collective bargaining agreements, and establishes policies for reporting and addressing grievances.
Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.
Leads and coordinates all labor relations activities for Logan Health. Applies effective interpersonal and formal presentation skill and builds trust with key stakeholders to influence optimal outcomes in line with labor relations strategies.
Develops a thorough understanding of collective bargaining agreements and maintains broad knowledge of the unique needs of the organization.
Drives an understanding of labor relations and labor management partnership (LMP) activities within facilities and functions.
Consults effectively and provides expert advice regarding union agreements through accurate interpretation of intent, spirit and terms of the various agreements; conducts appropriate research and additional consultation to ensure accurate interpretation.
Partners with leadership and HR on labor relations and LMP aspects of key initiatives, provides seamless and cohesive support to business leaders.
Researches, develops and maintains labor relations data and records, leverages key connections with HR, Finance, etc. to generate data.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with labor organizations.
Works collaboratively with key stakeholders to assess the impact of policies and practices and makes recommendations to address areas of inconsistency or practice improvement.
Ensures all areas are trained in policies and practices and adheres to Logan Health standards.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
