CTA Architects and Engineers Mechanical Engineer in Kalispell, Montana

Qualifications* you will bring to the table:
- A Bachelors degree or higher education in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Consulting HVAC Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to design complex HVAC systems with high standard of quality
- Proficient in design of many HVAC systems, such as VAV systems, DOAS systems, VRF systems, Data Room Cooling systems and Package rooftop systems
- Proficient in design of Chilled Water-Cooling and Hydronic Heating systems
- Advanced knowledge of Heating/Cooling load and Ventilation calculations
- Advanced knowledge of hydronic pipe sizing, pump selection, duct sizing and fan selection
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems, such as domestic hot & cold-water systems and waste and vent systems
- Proficient in application of Mechanical Building Codes
- Proficient at writing specifications for mechanical projects
- Ability to collaborate with peers and lead a team of engineers and drafters to produce high quality construction documents
- Ability to provide a high level of client service
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will
- System knowledge of multiple HVAC system types and proficient with layouts of HVAC equipment, duct and hydronic piping systems
- Proficiency with building codes as related to HVAC and Plumbing design
- Drive the development of HVAC design from initial concept through construction drawings
- Proficient at project coordination with other trades including architectural, electrical and structural
- Development of project estimates and ability to design systems within budget constraints
- Perform and/or review others load calculations, equipment selections, duct and pipe routing
- Knowledge of temperature control systems and experience writing sequences of operations
- Project specification development
- Prepare project proposals and engineering fee estimates
- Construction administration duties including submittal review, field inspections, RFIs and change requests
- Integration with the entire Cushing Terrell mechanical service sector outside of Kalispell with regard to work sharing, knowledge transfer and standards development
- Maintenance and development of strong client relationships, including design build contractor relationships
- Ability to review and design building plumbing systems
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
