Kalispell Regional Healthcare MRI Technologist in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

The MRI Technologist utilizes noninvasive magnetic resonance imaging technology to take MRI images, which are used to diagnose, evaluate, and treat a variety of medical issues.

Responsibilities

  1. *Accurately performs beginning and end of day duties as defined in department procedures. Responsible for stocking assigned areas and assists with supply outdates.

  2. *Exhibits proper radiation and/or magnet safety as appropriate to the area.

  3. *Accurately reports all malfunctioning equipment and/or errors per department protocol. Documents safety related issues and outcomes.

  4. *Obtains patient history, reason for procedure, and other exam related information. Evaluates information to ensure appropriate scan and ensure proper diagnosis. Communicates any questions or concerns per department protocol.

  5. *Responsible for patient preparation related to the exam. Exhibits proper venipuncture techniques, and I-stat competencies, etc.

  6. *Ensures the patient is provided follow-up exam information and post exam procedures.

  7. *Responsible for reviewing orders, prior exams, labs and patient history per department standards. Accurately completes appropriate documentation related to exam.

Qualifications

  1. Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required.

  2. Montana State Radiologic Technologist License as required by law.

  3. Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.

  4. Registered in Magnetic Resonance (MR) by ARRT preferred, or must be successfully obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire.

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
