Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for completing patient registration duties and providing administrative support for assigned area(s). Collects and validates accurate patient demographic and insurance information, verifies authorizations and referrals as required and data enters necessary information into registration system. Informs the patient of estimated liability at the time of service, collects patient liabilities, identifies patients in need of financial assistance and refers patients to financial counseling as necessary.
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for completing patient registration duties and providing administrative support for assigned areas. This role involves collecting and validating patient demographic and insurance information, verifying authorizations and referrals, and ensuring accurate data entry into the registration system.
Additionally, the Patient Access Representative informs patients of estimated financial liabilities, collects payments, and assists patients in need of financial counseling.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Previous experience in healthcare, customer service, or patient registration (preferred).
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
Commitment to providing excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient registration, including obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information.
Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring accuracy in registration and scheduling systems.
Verify authorizations, referrals, and insurance eligibility as required.
Provide patients with estimates of financial liability and collect patient payments at the time of service.
Identify patients in need of financial assistance and refer them to financial counseling as necessary.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality.
Address patient inquiries related to registration, billing, and financial policies.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and positive patient experience.
Assist walk-in patients efficiently while managing high patient volumes.
Support the facility’s goal of improving patient satisfaction by minimizing wait times and streamlining check-in processes.

Shift:
Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
