Immanuel Lutheran Communities Physical Therapy Assistant in Kalispell, Montana

Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to provide skilled physical therapy services to the residents of Immanuel Living.

Position Duties

Provide skilled physical therapy treatments to residents of Immanuel Living

Serve as a consultant for Immanuel Lutheran Communities on issues related to physical therapy, such as transfers, mobility, and fall education

Train staff members in specific techniques related to each residents individual needs, in areas such as transfers, mobility, and fall education

Serve as an integral part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, facilitating a unified approach to patient treatment

Attend care conferences as needed to assist in developing and revising the resident care plan

Assist in developing restorative programs and train restorative aides to carry out these programs

Participate in applicable care conferences, in-services and monthly rehabilitation department staff meetings

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

Currently licensed in the State of Montana as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Current CPR certification

The employee must be at least 18 years of age, as position operates potentially hazardous equipment.

The employee must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time and/or deadline pressures.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand , walk, use hands to finger; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.

The employee must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work under time and/or deadline pressures and frequent interruptions.

The employee must be able to move intermittently throughout the shift.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The employee will occasionally lift 50 or more pounds from knee to waist level in resident transfers and Physical Assessments.

The employee must be able to lift up to 8 pounds above head height with the ability to carry up to 8 pounds for a moderate distance. Both must be done with good body mechanics.

The employee must have the ability to push and pull a weighted cart of 220 pounds.
