Kalispell Regional Healthcare Practice Specialist - Bigfork Clinic in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

The Practice Specialist provides administrative services to support effective and efficient operations in all Practice functional areas.

Responsibilities

  1. *Acts as a resource for Clinic office staff. Assists leadership in coordination of office staff as requested.

  2. *Works with leadership regarding implementation of clinic policies and procedures.

  3. *Serves as a patient advocate.

  4. *Professionally provides reception duties. These include, but may not be limited to; answering phone, accurately taking messages, providing exceptional customer service, etc.

  5. *Responsible for administrative duties which may include, but are not limited to; filing (including electronic), copying, mailing and/or faxing of medical records, preparing patient charts for visits, and appointment reminder calls.

  6. *Performs the complete patient check in and check out process to include patient registration, scheduling appointments, referrals, scheduling medical procedures, monitor call backs, collecting co-pays and other cash balancing duties.

  7. *Responsible for completing incoming and outgoing record requests per KRH procedure and protocol.

  8. *Processes insurance information, authorization requests, etc.

  9. *Coordinates referrals to other clinics and/or facilities as needed.

  10. *Responsible for maintaining consistent inventory of department office supplies by communicating with team members and placing orders as applicable.

  11. *Works closely with all staff to create a positive work environment and excellent experience for the patient.

  12. *Multi-tasks, adapts, and promptly follows directions to meet clinic needs.

  13. *Performs Revenue and Revenue Cycle related tasks which may include, but may not be limited to; correcting demographic/insurance information on claims, reconciling daily clinic deposits, closing cash drawers, and/or billing, etc.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a healthcare setting or vocational training in healthcare required.

  2. Possess knowledge of clinical care provided in a medical office setting along with insurance requirements, scanning and attaching documents within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), back office processes, and medical terminology required.

  3. Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel required. Possess ability to learn other software as needed. Experience with Meditech preferred.

  4. Possess knowledge of office methods, equipment, operations and process required. Possess an understanding of patient billing processes related to payments and adjustments required.

  5. Must be familiar with medical terminology and abbreviations, various medical forms, reports and processing methods.

  6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  7. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  8. Possess ability to take the initiative to evaluate and institute problem solving on a daily basis.
