Job Title: Project Manager/Estimator
Job Summary:
The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for managing construction projects from initiation to completion while ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. This role involves estimating project costs, preparing detailed proposals, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Plan, coordinate, and oversee construction projects from start to finish.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
Ensure projects are completed within the scope, time, and cost constraints.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project plans and safety standards.
Manage and mitigate project risks and issues.
Coordinate and communicate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Estimating:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for construction projects.
Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project requirements.
Obtain and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs.
Update and maintain estimating databases with current cost information.
Client Relations:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients.
Ensure client satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing regular project updates.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
Track project financials, including budgets, expenditures, and profitability.
Generate and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
Qualifications:
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Ability to work in various conditions, including office settings and active construction sites.
Work Environment:
This role typically involves a combination of office work and on-site project management.
May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
