Job Title: Residential Care Worker

Provide supportive services to residents of the home; keep the home safe and secured; and oversee general functioning and maintenance of the home.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide independent living skills training (e.g. self-care; money management; housekeeping; meal planning; food preparation and storage; shopping) to adults with SDMI
Observe ingestion of medications and monitor psychiatric symptoms and side effects of medications.
Accompaniment to physical and mental health care appointments as requested by case manager.
Assist with development of work-readiness and pre-vocational skills (e.g. job coaching, accompaniment to volunteer opportunities)
Teach and encourage community adjustment (e.g. ability to use community resources such as stores, professional services, recreational facilities, government agencies).
Provide opportunities to improve interpersonal and socialization skills, including recreational and leisure activities.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Complete progress notes and billing forms as required.
Attend supervision and staff meetings as required.
Maintain agency standards, policies, and procedures.
Provide transportation to consumers in personal vehicle as needed.
Work within boundaries as assigned work schedule.
Successfully complete CPR, de-escalation, and other training as required.
Maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries with clients, families, and co-workers.
Assist with staff coverage as needed for Day Treatment, the Group Home, an Independence House.
Lead groups and house meetings as requested.
Perform related work as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
Prefer minimum of one-year paid experience working with people who have disabilities.
Completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training provided
Ability to pass background check and driver’s license check upon offer of employment.
Provide proof of auto liability insurance coverage per Western’s policies.
Current and valid driver’s license with good driving record if required to transport clients while on work duty
