Kalispell Regional Healthcare RN - Med / Surg Oncology in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

PLEASE NOTE - While we are accepting applications and interviewing for this position, we are only hiring for future needs due to do the uncertainty of COVID-19.

This position provides professional nursing care to patients on the unit during assigned shift. Care shall be rendered in a safe and effective manner consistent with Kalispell Regional Healthcare’s (KRH) mission, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. *Exhibits a commitment to professionalism, civility, teamwork, and patient service while undertaking all tasks and interactions with others.

  2. *Exhibits knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to the RN specific job duties, patient care, and safety.

  3. *Operates and maintains equipment to departmental standards. Maintains nursing standards of care, and executes appropriate physician orders.

  4. *While executing patient care, demonstrates knowledge of and maintains the patient’s right to diversity, privacy and confidentiality.

  5. *Performs a comprehensive assessment of patient on admission and at regular intervals appropriate for the condition of the patient or as ordered by the physician/provider.

  6. *Administers medications (including chemotherapy/immunotherapy), treatments, physician/provider specified care and intravenous therapy to patients in compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.

  7. *Performs reassessment of the patient to monitor status, identify changes in vital signs, lab work and implements interventions as ordered or defined. Assesses and evaluates the patient responses to treatment or therapy in compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures.

  8. *Communicates all appropriate and critical changes in the patient’s condition, status and findings to the appropriate physician/provider in a timely manner or as defined by policies and procedures and/or physician/provider orders.

  9. *Documents in the chart all clinical findings in an accurate and timely manner as required by regulatory mandates to maintain compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures or as defined by regulatory requirements.

  10. *Exhibits competency and current understanding of Oncology specific unit and educational requirements as defined by the 1 st Floor Oncology and department leadership.

  11. *Exhibits knowledge of staffing standards and a demonstrated commitment to cost containment with all resources.

  12. *Complies with and maintains regulatory compliance requirements as defined for the nursing care on the unit and according to hospital standards.

Qualifications

  1. Current Montana RN License required.

  2. BSN degree preferred.

  3. Current BLS healthcare provider required.

  4. Minimum of one (1) year experience in Medical/Surgical and/or Oncology care preferred.

  5. Current Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card (Fundamentals):

  6. RN’s withlessthan two (2) years experience must successfully obtain within two (2) years of hire.

  7. RN’s withgreaterthan two (2) year’s experience must successfully obtain within six (6) months of hire.

  8. OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) preferred.

  9. Must demonstrate Oncology specific competencies within 120-days of hire.
