Job Description Summary:
Logan Health Brendan House offers a high level of skilled and rehabilitative care, while encouraging active participation in life. With 110 beds, Brendan House offers skilled nursing for transitional care, long-term care and comfort care, uniquely divided into six pods. The mission of Brendan House is to provide resident-centered care.
This position plans and implements specific and individualized treatment programs to pediatric through geriatric population according to the principles of Speech/Language Pathology.
Qualifications:
Current Montana Speech/Language Pathology license required.
Current HS AED CPR Certification or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
Must possess ability to communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members and patients. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments under stressful situations at times. Must work in a planned manner without direct supervision.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
Job Duties:
*Develops, implements and revises individualized, goal directed speech therapy through a skilled process of evaluation and ongoing assessment of each patient.
*Performs necessary technical skills as delineated by education and experience and as evaluated in the organizations Clinical Competency Checklist.
*Demonstrates the ability to effectively plan, communicate, supervise and delegate to provide therapy services in a competent and efficient manner.
*Performs all patient treatment according to established speech therapy standards and department policies and procedures.
*Actively involved in the rehabilitation process, completes admission, discharge evaluations, daily assessments and identifies individual goals for each patient.
*Exhibits excellent customer service and communication techniques at all times to internal and external customers.
*Demonstrates the ability to effectively plan, communicate, supervise and delegate to provide therapy services in a competent and efficient manner.
*Completes all required documentation in a timely manner according to payer guidelines (Medicare, Private Insurance, Medicaid) and Montana practice guidelines for physical therapy.
*Enhances rehabilitation services by participating in projects within the department, the facility and the community.
*Travels to outreach clinics/sites to perform therapy services as needed.
*Maintains regular and consistent attendance at work as scheduled by department
leadership.
Work Environment:
Inpatient Rehabilitation nursing unit , the acute care units within the hospital, Brendan House, and the Outpatient Therapy Department at the Summit. Areas are well lighted and ventilated. Most work will be inside. Exposed to mark changed in temperature and humidity. Exposed to communicable diseases, body fluids, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous materials. Hazardous materials inventory and MSDS available. Wears protective personal equipment as required. Potential exposures to radiation, noise, and solvents.

Schedule Details:
Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.
Schedule:
Primarily eight (8) to ten (10) hours shifts, but may be necessary to adjust schedule for the needs of the department. Rotating weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed to provide coverage. May be necessary to work on units other than the assigned unit to maintain staff coverage. During periods of low census, may be required to take unpaid leave or may choose to use Earned Time Benefits.
