Volunteers of America Northern Rockies SSVF Housing Coordinator in Kalispell, Montana

Summary/ObjectiveThe Housing Coordinator is responsible for providing best practices in case management to Veteran households enrolled through Supportive Services for Veteran Families.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Conduct a formal assessment of Veterans to establish program eligibilityProvide best practices in case management to help qualified Veterans retain housing and achieve long-term stability through more financial income/support.Complete monthly case management check-ins on Veterans enrolled in the programDevelop, and implement a 2-year housing stability plan with Veteran participants.Cultivate productive relationships with the appropriate community resources through outreach to ensure referrals for Veterans’ servicesMaintain case management data in the Homeless Management Information SystemSupport the more extensive SSVF program as needed.Other duties as assigned.CompetenciesCrisis managementAbility to work with multiple staff, clients, and agenciesAble to meet tight deadlines under pressureOrganization skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamEffective oral and written communication skillsContinuous demonstration of behaviors aligned with a posture of servant leadership and our cultural valuesSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in an office environment and a mobile-office setting when traveling to meet Veterans' needs and perform outreach activities.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position typically makes use of office and personal communication equipment.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position.
