Store Personnel Manager

Job Description

Summary:Make supervisory decisions that are consistent with Town Pump standards, policies, and procedures. Assisting in planning, leadership, organizing, and follow-ups in the areas of personnel. Set the proper example for co-workers in terms of professionalism, attitude, and teamwork in all areas, including customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Management in making supervisory decisions that are consistent with Town Pump Inc. standards, policies and procedures.

  • Effectively prioritize, organize, delegate, and follow-up on personnel related tasks.

  • recruit candidates using marketing materials, attend off-site functions such as job fairs

  • utilize applicant tracking system for opening/posting job requisitions, editing/closing job requisitions, monitoring talent pipeline, reviewing/screening new applications, and conducting onboarding and background checks (criminal history waivers)

  • conduct reference checks

  • conduct interviews using behavior based questions

  • orientation of new employees

  • assist in training of new employees

  • Retain knowledge of company history.

  • Retain knowledge of company benefits.

  • Complete mandatory reading of “Hire Tough – Manage Easy” book. Review “HTME” guide and “Tool Kit.”

  • Assist in the continued development of all employees.

  • Objectively document performance and conduct performance evaluations.

  • Retraining, disciplining, and/or recommending termination for problem employees.

  • Enforcing all company policies and procedures.

  • Completing schedules, monitoring timekeeping, and processing payroll.

  • Monitoring reasonable accommodations requests.

  • Monitoring location turnover.

  • Interact with public, providing exceptional customer service.

    NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Other duties assigned by supervisor(s).

    Qualification Requirements: To be outstanding at this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a successful manner. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience should be in the area of supervision, with knowledge of computers and software.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Prefer experience or knowledge of the following software: MS Excel, MS Word and Company computer based program, PDI.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain personnel department at or above acceptable operational standards, including the professional maintenance of personnel files.

  • Ability to prepare & complete reports and operational tasks and report in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ability to ensure employees wear proper uniform & maintain personal hygiene to meet all health standards. Ensure and maintain proper attitude, professionalism, and teamwork in areas of customer service and store operations.

  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership skills and expected work ethic while developing team member's performance through proper feedback.

  • Demonstrate strong staff management skills with a commitment to collaboration and mentorship.

  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and customer interaction.
