Kalispell Regional Healthcare Swim Instructor - Summit Medical Fitness Center in Kalispell, Montana

Overview

Swim Instructor provides quality swim instruction in accordance with The Summit Aquatic policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  1. *Provides quality swim instruction following the guidelines and swim progressions as established by SMFC.

  2. *Provides a safe environment for students and reviews safety rules per department protocol

  3. *Teaches class using proper technique. Utilizes the show, tell and kinesthetic teaching methods.

  4. *Teaches skills to reflect the goals for the particular age level. Uses consistent terminology and age appropriate language.

  5. *Exhibits good class management skills. Prepares lesson plans and lessons are productive and fun. Keeps the students attention throughout the entire class and focuses on the skills to be learned.

  6. *Keeps the pool area clean and organized. Informs aquatic leadership of repairs needed.

  7. *Performs life saving duties as trained and as necessary and exhibits knowledge of the emergency action plan.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of sixteen (16) years of age required.

  2. Must successfully complete Summit Swim Instructor training within thirty (30) days of hire.

  3. Heart Saver AED CPR preferred or must successfully obtain with in sixty (60) days of hire.

  4. Nationally recognized aquatic swim instructor certification preferred.

  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
